Emera and Nova Scotia Power are responding to a cybersecurity incident that has taken out some of their Canadian networks and servers. Immediately after finding the external threat, the companies activated their incident response and business continuity protocols. They are also working with third-party cybersecurity experts and have notified the police. There is no disruption to the physical operations, including generation, transmission and distribution facilities. The companies say they are working diligently to bring the affected IT systems back online.
